This project is being spearheaded by high school student Lily Donzeiser. Lily is in a multi-year 'Authentic Science Research' program at her high school that supports students in conducting their own scientific research to write a research paper. Due to restrictions on in-person field work because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Lily reached out to me to help her build a predictive species distribution model for Scarlet Tanagers (Piranga olivacea). We are currently working on preregistering her research idea with Peer Community In Ecology. Check back here for our posted preprint soon!
